First Ride & Guns and Poses Road Tour
Guns and Poses or Friends in "high places".
I came across these reports while I was updating this website. They are from my very first rides here in Thailand. This report tells of the first time I met Mr. Golden Triangle Rider (David Unkovich). You can tell by my writing I was somewhat awestruck at the time by David and the other “round the world” travelers. Now, not so much (just kidding David).
I also met Steve for the first time. Steve can lay claim to “finding” a Burmese border road that was relatively unknown at the time. Following his lead Phillipe and I were the first to report this road on the internet (at least to the best of my knowledge). At the time the army was pretty restrictive about letting anyone into this area (See “Guns and Poses Road Tour“). It has now (2009) been done quite often and is still spectacular and the road is more dangerous than before.
This is also the tale of the Red Haired Singer and the Jack Scott Road Trip. I found it funny to read again and I hope you will too.
