The “New” 1252 Loop

I had “discovered” route 1252 in 2003 when I thought I was taking a short cut. It turned out to be not much more than a dirt mountain trail and was a treacherous ride on a road bike.
In 2006 the guys wanted to go for a dirt bike ride and I thought I would lead them around this route. Instead of a nice dirt ride we found what has now become one of the most popular rides outside of Chiang Mai, and not a dirt section in site.
However mud slides, floods, and falling riders made up for it………
