The Beaches

Southern Thailand is surrounded by the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand. It is home to some of the most beautiful beaches and islands in the world. It is here that attracts the majority of tourists. Sun, surf, sea and tourists and tourists and tourists.

Some of these tourists venture north to Chiang Mai and that keeps the economy going here also, but not on the scale of the south. Phuket is the number one area and I fully intended to title this post “Phuket” (pronunced poo-ket, be careful). I then realized I have very few photos of Phuket and I have only been there three times. It is similar in many ways to the tourist towns of Florida and California. I am just not a good “tourist”.
